Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best source for vitamins and nutrients. Cooking fruits and vegetables destroys some, if not all, of the vitamin and mineral content. Steaming is better for retaining nutrients than either frying or boiling. Frying foods makes temperatures so hot, that the heat destroys all or some nutrients. Boiling causes nutrients to get leached in to the water, so it is a ideal for making soups.
Here at our nursery, we harvest our own home grown kale, broccoli, tomatos, lettuce, mangos, starfruit, and many other fresh produce items daily! Eating fresh produce keeps us healthy and extra energized to keep our strength for our line of work! We recommend that everyone eats fresh produce, too.
